The Power of Influencers

 Instagram which was used to only drop our pictures or videos on and keep them as memories is now one of the marketplaces and the pictures can be business advertisements. Also, Instagram users who are followed by a lot of people have a great influence on people, and business companies use those influencers to promote their products effectively. 

 Focused on M.A.C., LISA, a Korean idol made the first collection of cosmetic items with M.A.C. She has a big power of influence on people so M.A.C. could get much attention from the world. Her followers are 82.2M now (September 18th). M.A.C. Cosmetic tries to approach a younger demographic so using the Korean idol as a promoter made sense. 

 It is important to gain more followers of own company but using influencers for advertising might be more crucial in Instagram marketing. The old brand has more followers than the young brand so the younger one might need to use influencers for advertising so that it can be more famous and get brand attention through influencers' promotions.

  1. I think it is crazy how much influencers can impact our decisions when it comes to buying something. There have been several times that I have debated between two or more products and chosen the one I have seen an influencer use. Although we see newer brands using influencers more, I think it is a strategy every brand should try.

  2. Using influencer as a means of advertising is definitely a very smart move by companies. Im definitely guilty of buying different products solely because an influencer I follow has the same thing.
